Expert - Canvas Work (detail) - by courtesy of © Anna (DE)
Step by step you will enter the fascinating world of hand stitching. Each module of the Master Needleworker correspondence course has 6 lessons and leads from a simple, given motif to your own design on a perfectly mastered artisanship basis. The classes are crowned by a final project on a given topic. Fascination of techniques, materials and colors with which you create your needlework with needle and thread as colourful and vividly as a painter with a brush.
In addition to the techniques, we will also explain to you something about the theory, e.g. how the choice of needlework material affects the work, which needle is used why for which thread, which other tools are useful in hand stitching and how to best set up your workstation.
The seminar is suitable for: beginners, returnees, sunday stitchers, needlework manicas and all those who can not keep their hands off the needle and thread and enjoy it every day. Sofor anyone who likes to work with needle and thread, who is as fascinated by the whole range of hand stitching as we are and who is or wants to become part of the big worldwide family of happy stitchers. You don't need more prerequisites.
Use it to create practice pieces, to prepare for developing your own courses, to create a sample book, to prepare for a course of study or the practical part of the journeyman's examination for the profession of designing crafts woman / subject embroidery
With questions you get support by email. Under the heading certificates you will find the conditions for obtaining a confirmation of participation, an evaluation and a certificate.
Module I - Basics
We start with 5 different stitches or sub-techniques per lesson. This forms the entry into the world of the art of hand stitching. We work in all 6 lessons with the same theme, which is always adapted to the technique. It is a traditional motif from past times of needlework. This makes it easier to break away from the somehow innate conviction that you have to implement each template very realistically.
Module II - Advanced
It continues with more stitches, more techniques and the first combinations and variations. For a first small design we provide 3 templates for you to choose from in every lesson. The planning for the design will be created by you according to certain specifications and then of course stitched...
Module III - Expert
Now it's almost done! In the last module you will learn more stitches and other techniques. Many things will be combined, experimented and varied in a modern way. The result is 6 somewhat unconventional samplers in the shape of our popular flower scallop.
For the final project, we will give you a topic from which you can create any project under certain conditions.
