Fascination Needlework
The craft of embroidery is, like all old crafts, something very special. Every embroidery technique has its own rules. Cotton thread becomes an expression of the most diverse structures, silk a shiny centre, wool a fluffy memory of childhood. Fly stitch, Herringbone wheel and stem stitch are combined with cross stitch and hemstitch. Even-weave linen fabric with strong cotton. Finally, they dance a fast-paced waltz together, combining all the parts into a work of art.
Modern needlework is always a combination of traditional, perfectly mastered technique and modern variations. We do not promise you that you will learn to stitch like a professional in a few weeks. Our aim is to show you how to design textiles, especially embroidery and needlepoint, in such a way that you know exactly why what is being worked and how. This is the basis for unique designs and excellent execution. For this reason, we are not primarily concerned with finished objects, but with technique. The seminars are brought to life by the variety of Painters Threads.
For us, needlework is a way of expression, not necessarily something that MUST be designed into something practical. For us, the now somewhat hackneyed sentence:"the journey is the reward" still feels true. Once a project is finished, it's not so bad if it's "just" stowed away in the drawer. The next project is already waiting...

Correspondence Classes
Learn when and where you want! We offer correspondence classes of different intensity. All classes are equally suitable for beginners, "re-starters" and advanced learners and can be taken independently. Comprehensive documentation with step-by-step pictures, competent instructions on all important needlework techniques and information on tools and materials. For all courses a certificate of attendance, an assessment and a certificate can be issued if the requirements are met.
And who knows, maybe you will find the time to share your knowledge with others at one of our local seminars and meetings and to supplement your knowledge with additional practical experience.
